Vision 2050

Kvetoslav Kmec

Abstract
:
Unprecedented challenges of the current he world force us to rethink the way we live.  Just because the way we live causes those unprecedented challenges. It seems that it is no longer growth of economy and material consumption that matter for quality of life of society as well as each individual. In a way, we are coming back to wisdom of ancient masters who called for a balance in our life. We call it sustainable development now but it is basically the same. Number of countries in their visions 2050 are trying to suggest the way that would lead to a balance in society ruled by the principle “Leave no one behind”, while protecting natural and cultural resources.

Abstract:

The metro in Sofia started operating 25 years ago. The vibrations in the rails are produced by the interaction of the rolling stock and the rails. Vibrations cause noise (20-20000 Hz) and vibrations (0-15 Hz), imperceptible to the human ear, in the environment. They reach residential and public buildings near the route. Their spreading depends on the environment. In solid materials, building structures, rock formations, etc., their distribution is greater than in loose soils, porous materials, etc. If the track is on aartificial facilities or passes over land, the vibrations from passing metro trains may increase. When the train accelerates and stops at a station, in addition to vertical vibrations, longitudinal and transverse vibrations are generated. They increase the overall effect with a longitudinal component.
